The LOXJIE D40 PRO can be connected directly to a GUSTARD U18 DDC (a digital-to-digital converter) with an I2S (HDMI) cable. I have not verified this connection myself. If you are going with an I2S connection, the MUSICIAN Pisces III is a little more expensive, but I believe it is the better DDC in terms of sound quality.

Please note that a DDC by itself does not produce any sound. A DDC receives digital audio from a PC or smartphone over USB and passes it on, via I2S (HDMI), to a USB DAC that has an I2S input. The DAC then converts that digital signal into an analog signal, and only then do you hear good sound: through earphones or headphones using a 4.4mm balanced connection, or through an amplifier and speakers using RCA or XLR cables.

As the next product in the Musician Audio "USB DAC PEGASUSⅢ" series, I would like to see a model that, rather than using an R2R design, features four (quad configuration) of ROHM's flagship D/A converter ICs, the "BD34302EKV," combined with Asahi Kasei Microdevices' (AKM) "AK4191," a chip dedicated to digital signal processing and delta-sigma modulation, for a dual-DAC configuration.

Furthermore, just like Musician Audio's standard USB DACs, I would like automatic 100V–230V input voltage switching to be built into USB DACs from other manufacturers such as SMSL and Gustard. I would also like the same 100V–230V automatic switching in the amplifiers and USB DACs of Japanese audio manufacturers such as Accuphase, LUXMAN, and UESUGI.

It is said that audio products sound better when they can be switched to 220V–230V, whether they are export models for markets outside Japan, foreign-made products, or even products intended for the Japanese domestic market. Ideally, I would also like manufacturers to guarantee the use of such equipment switched to 220V–230V, even when a step-up transformer is used.

Furthermore, I would like Tokyo Electric Power Company to newly design, develop, and offer for sale or rental a dedicated audio distribution board that goes beyond 200V switching: one with a step-up transformer function for 220V–230V and support for 100V, 110V, 200V, and 220V–230V. For power, I would like an external linear DC power supply. I would also like a special-order option to install custom, handmade transformers wound by hand by skilled artisans.

In addition, I would like an option that supports special, high-sound-quality power cables conforming to the IEC 60320 C19/C20 standard (the international high-current inlet standard used in Europe and elsewhere, rated 16 A at 250 V, and 20 A under North American ratings).
